Duplicate URL's for products

Hi there, I am having the same issue as on this thread:

www.hikashop.com/en/forum/4-how-to/25184...ls-for-products.html

My clients site only has 150 - 200 products, but due to all the related product URL's he literally has 1,000s of URL's generated.

I only want to have 1 URL per product, regardless of whether it is directed via a related product.

I have just purchased a new subscription and upgrade to v 2.1 (the shop was running on 1.6), but I see I still have the issue, in the thread above Nicolas mentioned looking at fixing this for future versions, was this done?

If not, please can someone advise what I need to do to fix this? (I have tried putting the code (mentioned in the thread) into my htaccess file and it did nothing?)

Thanks for your help,

Keith

Hi there,

The last released version of Hikashop include a new way to handle url which should solve your problem.
So try to update to the last version.

Hi Eliot,

I have already updated to the latest version (2.1) however the related product URL's still remain.
So is there a setting I need to change somewhere in the configuration? Would appreciate some guidance in working out how the new version solves this please.

Thanks,

Keith

Hi,

The issue raised in that other thread was fixed in the 2.1.

I personally did it and tested it.

That doesn't mean that it will fix all the duplicate URLs automatically.
Your modules and menus need to be configured properly (for example, if you don't set properly the menu option of your modules that would lead to duplicated URLs) for that and and in some cases it not possible to not have duplicated URL due to the way the products and categories are linked together by you (for example, if you add a product to several categories and that you can access the product from several categories on the frontend, that will generate several URLs, one per category).
