Adding a message to the front page

Hi

Firstly great product.

Secondly, I done a quick search (so apologies if I missed it) and couldn't find an answer to my query. I'd like to add some text above the categories when I first land on my shop page.

Can anyone assist please.

In HikaShop, go to Products > Categories. Click the Change icon beside the category you want the text to show up on to edit. Add the text you want into the Description area.

Cheers trueblue, but obviously I didn't explain myself very well.

When you first land on the shop page, you are greeted by just you list of categories.

What I would like to do is to place a message above them, welcoming my shoppers to the online shop.

Hi LT,

Don't you put all your categories (as sub-categories) in a single category (main)?

Example:

- Products
- Shoes
- Pants
- Jewellery

Isn't this how your store from is laid out?

If so, you can just place the text in the Main category.

If not, then you may need a module placed above the store front page placing your text in a custom module.

Surely, I would then have a blank page with a link to the other categories, correct me if I'm wrong

Hi there,

Winchester gave you good advices, a module could be the solution.
I don't see why you would have a blank page with a main category if you menu is made ina way it display the subcategories, this is one of the Hikashop menu options.
