Other Membership via Subscription Questions

Hi guys,

Hope you're having fun at the conference

I am new to Hika Shop and have been following the recent discussion on Membership via Subscriptions. Thanks for the info in that topic, it was quite helpful in setting up Hika Shop and Akeeba.

I do have a few other questions though...

1. Is there an option to offer three payments options instead of the 'recurring' Paypal payment option? I'd like to offer Pay By Cheque, Paypal and Recurring Paypal Payment options for membership products.

2. We are a small family association and don't have many products for sale, so the 'Shop' main menu item links to a products display page. Unfortunately, this product page display also includes the Membership Products. And when you add more than one item to your cart i.e.) a Membership product and a t-shirt item; When you proceed to check out, there is an error message that states 'Recurring products & not recurring products in cart, please keep only one type of products in this cart.' How can I remove the membership products from the product display page?

3. I have my Membership Subscription (HS) page linked to a 'Join Us Now' text link. Is there any way to use this linked page in the other modules that contain a 'create an account' link? i.e.) Login Module, etc.

Hi,

1. You can add the Cheque as recurring payment method by adding the code: "$method->recurring = 1;" before "$usable_methods[$method->ordering]=$method;" in the file "plugins/hikashoppayment/check/check.php" in the function "onPaymentDisplay()".

Please accept my apologies for such a late reply. I wasn't expecting an answer before this past weekend, once the conference ended.

I'm not sure that I need or want to offer a cheque payment as a recurring payment, I was looking more for a standard payment option, but I will add the code and see how it works.

If you want a standard payment, you have to create the same product with a subscription but a not recurring subscription.
You can't have a recurring product with a standard payment, a standard product with a recurring payment, and a recurring and not recurring product in the same cart.

Thank you again for helping me. I had hoped that I could offer the payment options: pay by cheque, standard payal (one-time payment) and the Paypal recurring; But I figured out that one can't have standard payment options with a recurring payment (error message);

I haven't been able to make the standard payment options work with the subscription packages- so I must be missing something somewhere and will have to play around more with it.

I do appreciate you help
