Custom view or subdomain store

I have a customer who owns a t-shirt shop. We started out with simple coupon codes and ACL to deal with group pricing for different groups. Now he has a contract with a multi-location college and wants to display their products separately. As this could be hundreds or even thousands of end users. ACL seems labor intensive (ie having to grant access to each person from the college that registers to shop) I thought about a subdomain ie. collegename.domainname.com that would only display their products but in reading up it looks like a difficult and costly option needing something like joomla multi-site. They are also going to have different pricing from others visiting his main site and he did not really want a menu item for the college.

Is there anything I can do within Hikashop to use the one store/site and avoid having to create a separate store/site?

The way is to use the ACL, with the HikaShop ACL you can restrict some products to one group, or in the product page you can set different prices depending on the groups.
Using the Joomla ACL allow you to display menus to only some user groups.

With some configuration, it's possible to have only one store.

Xavier,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have it setup this way already and it works great. The issue, unless I'm missing something is that each user has to be placed into the group. As these are college campuses with ever changing student base, that is a lot of admin for a small print shop plus a delay for the customers to have rights elevated.

Hi,

I think that there is existing plugins to set a group on the registration.
Create the groups (college name) then when the user register, he select his college and is assigned to the group.

And then with a good configuration everything should work.
