Custom field for product order

Hi,
How would I go about adding a custom field to the order form that would allow the shopper to insert a date when this product is required, I would need this for all products.

Hi,

You can just add a custom field in the table "order" to have it on the checkout.
If you need a different date foreach products, you can add a custom field in the table "item".

If I go into Custom Fields and create a custom field, I just need a simple emty field for shoppers to enter the a date, but how do I get that field to appear in the order form?
