Hi, i'm having trouble adding a product to my cart before being logged in.
When I add a product to the cart, it shows the minicart with the added product, but when I click 'show cart'
the cart empties inmediatly. I'm sure it must be a configuration setting, but I can not find what i'm supposed to do.
I would expect a login form, but that is not the case.

some small directions would help me along I think.

Thanks,

Roy

Always best to post a link so we can see the problem as it exists

You are right, but at this time it was restricted to one ip.
However, I looked at my development-server on my pc, and the problem does not excist there, so now i'm
overwriting the files and maybe the DB later if needed. Wish I had thought of the development site earlier though...
thanks, I will report if it is solved here!

The button should be displayed for registered and unregistered users, unless you have edited the view "product / quantity" to hide the button for guests.
Are you using the ACL ?

Maybe just reinstall HikaShop over your version will solve the problem.

I'm using standard ACL hikashop registration for now, so checking the cart returns to the login/register form if not logged in.
What I did today:

  • checked the website on my developmentserver: everything works fine
  • removed site from live server
  • backed up of development site wih akeeba and placed it on the live webserver
  • after install, the problem is still there..

the url = arleco-scooters.nl/js

thanks!

In addition to the above, I reinstalled Hikashop again.
I also checked $live_site = ' www.arleco-scooters.nl/js '
but no luck..

Hi,

It's potentially a server user session handling issue.
Try to change the user session handling method option of the joomla configuration. That might help fix the problem.

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for your reply!
I changed session handling in configuration.php from 'database' to 'none' , but it does not seem to make any difference.

thanks,
Roy

Mmm. As it seems to be an server configuration issue, it's hard to say. I tried to look at your website but there is nothing on it. So I can't even look at the issue on your website. Could you make sure that we can see the issue on your website ? We might find clues in the HTML/JS of the pages.

I don't see much on your website.
Here is a screenshot.

Is that normal ?

A backend access would indeed help.

Well the site only has 1 product yet...
after running into this problem i stopped working on it.

But indeed, it looks strange. In Firefox it should look like my attachement:

I always check/repair other browsers css when the site is finished.

thanks, Roy

Hi,

I checked your settings and they seems fine. It looks like a user session issue but I couldn't find the cause. I would need a FTP access to trace the problem. Would that be possible ?

Hi,

I had a look during the weekend yes. However I couldn't find a solution nor why this was happening. I also checked your PHP settings via the system information menu but I couldn't find anything. I'm out of ideas here.

I will move the site to another host for testing because it's working on my ubuntu - lamp server.
It is strange however, because I know that there is another hikashop site running fine on the current server.
I will let you know what i will find.

best regards,
Roy
