quantity pricing across different characteristics

How can you keep the pricing attributes across multiple characteristics?

For example, if a product (birdhouse) has pricing set at
$6.00 each or $5.00 per item for buying at least 2

And has a characteristic of color, the combined pricing only works if they select the same characteristic for both.

Example right now;
2 blue birdhouses total $10, while 1 blue and 1 red total $12 (the discounted pricing doesn't apply).

I would like for the pricing to work regardless of the characteristics selected.

Is there a built in solution for this? Is there a creative hack for accomplishing what I'm looking for?

Is there a section of the code you could point me towards if I wanted to try to implement this functionality on my own?

The person with a solution gets a free birdhouse LOL, their choice of color. :laugh:

Hi,

Did you set a price to your product's variants? if that's the case you should delete all the price of your product's variants, then they also have the price of the product.

Hope this will help you.

No, the product variants have no pricing associated with them.

They should be using the pricing of the main product. Which they do, to an extent, however, multiple variants of different characteristics don't get the discounted pricing when added to an order. The discount only seems to work when you select identical characteristics of the product.

Let me try again.

Product = Bird House

Characteristics
Color = Red / Blue / Green / Etc..

Pricing
Minimum Quantity of 1 = $6
Minimum Quantity of 2 = $5

If they purchase two different variants of the same product (1 red bird house, and 1 green bird house).
I would expect the pricing to use the minimum quantity of 2 and thus it should give them the discounted price of $5.
However, it doesn't do that, the discounted pricing only works if all variations of the product match (meaning to get the discount, you must purchase 2 blue bird houses, or 2 red bird houses). I want the quantity pricing to work across of of the products, regardless of their variations of that particular main product.

I'm running the latest version

You have the latest stable version : 2.1.0

If you would like to see what I'm talking about, try this url (don't complete the order of course).
www.hearnsbergersgourdfarm.com/index.php.../32-gourd-wren-house

But add one blue birdhouse to your cart, and then add one green birdhouse, and you will see them both listed at $6 still instead of the discounted $5 which they should be for purchasing two of them.

Hi,

Actually, that is not yet handled.
That however sounds logical.

You will have to replace the files administrator/components/com_hikashop/classes/product.php administrator/components/com_hikashop/classes/cart.php and components/com_hikashop/views/product/view.html.php by the files in that archive and that will make it work like that.

We'll include that in next version of HikaShop.
