Category Listing without associated module?

Hi,
I may have asked this in the wrong forum so here it is again.

I am fooling around with the free version of HikaShop to see if it will do what my customer wants before purchasing the commercial version. After searching for the answer on this forum and in the options and parameters in the program I have not been able to come up with a solution. It seems like the category listing must include an associated module.

So here is my question: Can I have only categories w/descriptions show up on the home page (No associated products or modules)? I want the Categories listing on the home page only. When a user clicks on the category image or link, they then are presented with the products that are associated with that category. No products are initially available on the home page, just the category.

Is this possible? If so, how do I configure it?

Thanks for your help!

You just need to make a hikashop content module and set its type of content to "category" and associate it to the parent category of the categories you wish to display and then place this module where you want it on your homepage. To Display the description go to parameters for div > type of item layout and select "image and description"
