Customize Emails with Essential Package

It's not quite clear how to customize the outgoing email templates. There is no documentation for this either. Other forum posts say "SYSTEM>EMAILS" but I don't even see that in my configuration screen. I'm using the latest version of Hikashop.

How do I do this?

Also, If someone gets to the paypal screen and quits the order process they still get an "Order Created" email... How do I stop this from happening?

Also you should not advertise that you can CUSTOMIZE EMAILS with essentials if it is only a business edition feature... Please tell me that it is not.

Hi,

www.hikashop.com/en/hikashop.html

Easily customize your HikaShop emails
With all HikaShop editions, you are able to edit all of the HikaShop emails text strings and translate them. And with HikaShop Business you can also completely modify them with a simple interface

With essential version, you can override your emails by creating the ".modified" file in the right place but there is not interface in the backend to help you to edit them.

I am understanding this verbiage now more that I have used the product a bit. I just wish this was clearer up front. I wouldn't have purchased the essential at all had I known that. I would've gone straight to the business edition which we DO Need now.

I do have one important question. When I upgrade to business, will all of my customizations to the php views be overwritten? That would be bad.

You will not lose anything if you have made the modifications from the HikaShop > Display > Views menu.

Don't forget to make a backup before, we never know.

My concern is not with those configurations. It's the views php files that I had to modify to get this to work properly for us. Just an unnecessary head ache.

If you have edited core files, then you will lose your data.

Only the views, translations, emails (if business) and css are saved in duplicated files, so overrides not lost.
But if you have edited something else, when updating the changes are lost.

I got all my changes made to the core back in. I was surprised to find that my language overrides did not stay, however. I made them through the language section of the configuration. It's no big deal, as I only had a handful of changes.

Had you made them in the "override" part under the main language part of the popup ?

Yes, I the configuration section that has the languages tab. The pop up is where I made my changes. After upgrading to Biz, it was all back to default.

Sorry if I insist but it's just to be sure that you edited in the right place.

Ah! Stupid me. I have a ton of stuff in my overrides from another plugin/component. I forgot to shove it down there.
