First off sorry if this is an easy question but I can't seem to find any other posts that specifically tell me how to overcome this problem. (But I might be searching for the wrong terms)

I have Hikashop business set up with retail and wholesale pricing for 2 difference user groups and that is working perfectly. But what I want to do is show the retail price of a product AND the wholesale price at the same time to people in the wholesale access level group.

Normal User
$Retail Price Only

Wholesale User
$Reatil Price
$Wholesale Price

I'm guessing this would have been answered before but I just can't find it, so any help will be very appreciated!

Hi,

The easiest way is to use the "Retail price" option in the product edition page which will be available in the newt release (which should arrive soon).
And display it only to the user of the desired group.

Some modification will be required in the view "product / listing_price".

This feature is pretty nice, but the I see a problem, when you choose retail price and a the same time have a whole sale price only available for wholesellers, then the price of the product for public is set as free....

How can we over come this, so the retail price will become the actual main product price.

You have to use a price for the public, set a price for the wholesellers and another for the public in the price part. And you can set the retail price.

If you want to display the public price for the wholesellers, you can edit the view "product / listing_price".
Or use the retail price, and hide it when a public user see the product page.

Hello,

I have a similar question. I want a public retail price and, for some products, a wholesale price for a specified joomla group. Is there a way for this group's logged in users to hide the products which don't have a wholesale price?

Thanks!

Hi,

In each product, you also have an "access level" option at the bottom of the product edition screen.
So simply restrict these products to not display for the wholesaler user group.

Thanks Nicolas,

I can't do that, I want the retail stuff to remain public. I am looking for a way to select and show the products with a wholesale price once someone from the wholesale group logs in.

If the above cannot be done, how can I have both prices showing at the category listing?

Hi,

To display a wholesale price for the customers in the wholesale group you can add many prices to the product and restrict the product price to a group.

This way the products can be seen by everybody, and if the customer is in the wholesale group so the wholesale price is displayed.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Hi Xavier,

I know this can be done, but, when someone logs in to the wholesale group is there a way to hide the products which don't have a wholesale price?

And if this is not feasible, in the category listing of the products, can we have both prices showing? Changing the associated module to show all prices does not do anything.

Hi,

To hide the products to the wholesale group users if they don't have wholesale price so you just have to do as Nicolas said.
Use the ACLs restriction, on a product without wholesale price allow all the groups to see that product but not the wholesale group.

This way everybody will be able to see the product, public too but the wholesale customers.

Hi,

1. Following on from the developments above, there is a small glitch when the wholesale user tries to add items to the cart for the FIRST time. The cart will not appear as it should unless I go to another page and then I see that the quantities have actually been added. Could you please have a look? the url is gouri-gouri.com and the user is u/n gtest p/w gtest.

2. My primary price includes VAT as it should. Can my secondary price (wholesale) not show any VAT?

Thank-you.

Hi,

1. Change the option "Use AJAX when possible for add to cart buttons" of the HikaShop configuration and that should help.

2. Sure. Simply restrict your tax rules based on the user group, like you did for the prices so that the tax rates only apply to the individuals, not the wholesalers.

Hello,

1. Ajax is on but I still have the same problem.
2. I have set 2 tax categories (and 2 tax rates) with different access levels for the joomla groups. Tax still appears when the wholesaler goes to the checkout. Also, for the Administrator, he has access to both rates and categories but when I edit the product's price, still the price with tax is automatically calculated with the old rate ...

With regards to 2 above, it seems that a product cannot have different tax rates for different prices. When one inputs a price, does the price with tax have to be calculated by the system? Can the user not define both the price and the price with tax as he wishes?

1. I disabled ajax
2. I was trying acl's of categories instead of rules ...

Thanks.
