We have a custom field added to a sub-category called Tags. The custom field is called "IAR Numbers" - you can see the product layout here
aaa.wirthconsulting.com.au/merchandise-s.../14-replacement-tags
We have set this custom field as "required".
However on the product category page
aaa.wirthconsulting.com.au/merchandise-services/online-shop
the user can add the item to their cart directly. This effectively skips the "required" field and they can checkout without providing the information we need for that product.
I checked out other forum postings about adding a custom field to orders but it doesn't apply on a per product basis (this custom field should only appear for 1 product).
Any suggestions on how to get around this?
