Link in characteristic description

Hi
I have a link which opens up a pop up size chart in my main product description

However when i add any characteristics to the product like say colour for example then the popup does not work.

Even if i add it to each individual description on each variant (manage varients) it still work work after i select a colour from the product page.

Is there something that hikashop does to the page to disable doing such things?

How do you display that popup ?
Using some JavaScript based on an ID ? If it is, be sure that the ID is unique on the page.
Because the descriptions are all present in the page, but hidden. So many ID, can broke the JavaScript.
