Adjust the payment options order

We use three different payment providers.

I want to select the order of appearance and decide which one will be the default checkt one.

I have set the order of the plugin the way I want it but it doen't seem to make a difference. What else is affecting the order?

Hi,

For the moment there is no option to reorder the payment plugins in the front.
The ordering is made on the "payment_id" and there is not "payment_ordering" column.
But we are refactoring our payment (and shipping) system and this feature would be better support.

Let me answer this myself for others:

Only changing the ID in the DB did not work, I had to export, rearrange the records and re-import.
Just don't see the reason why/what is selecting the default.

Hi,

Just to complete, it is possible to set the ordering on the plugins but, the value "0" is not used.
So, you have a plugin with the order "0" (on joomla plugin listing), the payment plugin would be put at the end of the list (considered as empty).

But, if you have "real" values (1,2,3...) it would work fine.

Jerome, that was a valuable remark :-)
Saved me some DB digging.

But what is setting the default selector? Can't find anything in the DB and now it's all the time selects PayPal, which is the second plugin on the list.

It's probably that you already have a default one in your user session.
Once you set the ordering you want for the plugins, make sure that you logout/login.
