Hi,

To search items in HikaShop, you have to use the Joomla search module, and publish the HikaShop Search Plugin.
And it will search for the products.

hmm does this work with joomla 3, as on my test server I have latest joomla 3 and hikashop business, and have published hika cat and product search plugins, but the joomla search only seems to pick up on the articles etc, nothing in the shop?

Hi,

Yes it's working fine on Joomla 3, I just tried on a local site.
Could you give us a link to your website and the word used for the search ?

Hi There :) The website is at oceans17.co.uk and search string is 'jonbuoy' . There are 8 products in total with that search string in. :)

Please use the joomla search module and not the joomla advanced search module and it should work.

Got another related problem since I moved the site to live it seems.

The search brings back results nicely now, just the results from cataegories is a blank page, products work fine, just not categories, am I doing something really silly ?

for example got to my live site at oceansafety.com
in search type foam lifejacket

You will see lots of nice results, the top ones are categories, just when you click on them they are blank :(

In the menu itemid option of your category search plugin, you need to enter the id of a category listing menu item.

do you have a link to what this means, as I have put a category menu item id in both the hika cat and product search and it has made no difference.

Have you set the id of a category menu which is listing the categories and has an associated module to list the products ?

In the plugin "hikashop search category" you should have set a menu itemid.
Edit the menu with this item id, it's a menu which should display categories, now click on the associated module of this menu, and see if the configuration is good.
In this configuration, try to change the display option to "all sub elements".
