I'm trying to figure out how the Characteristics works.

So if I have 3 shoes and they all have different sizes, does this mean I have to create a characteristic for each of them?

For example, shoe #1 has size 7, 8, 9, shoe #2 has size 5, 6, 7, shoe #3 has size 8, 9, 10. Can I not create one characteristic and each time I add a characteristic to a product I just remove the size I don't want for that product?

Thanks!!

Hi,
Sure, you'll juste have to create a characteristic named "size" and with values "5/6/7/8/9/10" then you'll just have to add this characteristic to your products, and unpublish the variants that you don't want through the "manage variant" button.
Hope this will help you.

I think I'm missing a step so I'll tell you what I did and you can tell me what I missed.

I created the characteristic with the sizes. I then added it to the product then click on "Manage Variants" and unpublished the sizes I DONT want, but all the sizes are still showing in the list. I even unpublished ALL of them just to see - but they were still showing on the site.

Not sure what I missed. Thanks!!

Hi,

My second solution would be to create 3 size characteristics with differents alias and with the values :
- 5/6/7
- 7/8/9
- 8/9/10

And then use the good characteristic regarding the products.

Hope this will solve your problem.
