Can't hide sub categories??

I have set up a menu item for a categories listing, however I do NOT want sub categories to show. In the associated module (HikaShop options) the "parameters for categories" settings for either "Show sub categories" or "Number of sub categories" seem to have no effect.

Shouldn't selecting "No child" or setting "Number of sub categories" to zero cause sub categories to NOT show?

You have to change these options in the menu directly, not in the associated module.
To display the categories of the selected one, you have to select "all direct subcategories"

I am trying to turn the display of sub categories OFF, not ON, and I believe I AM trying to change this option directly in the menu (my fault for referring to it as "the associated module").

Let's try again:
Under HikaShop-->Display-->Content menus-->selected menu item-->parameters for categories I see the setting for sub category display ("Show sub categories"). However, when I set it to "No child" sub categories are still displaying.

Can someone tell me how to turn OFF sub category display for a category list menu item, or why the above setting doesn't seem to be working?

Please note: I purchased the business version of HikaShop 2.1.2 and am using it in Joomla 3.0.3

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

Mmm. That's the correct way of doing it actually.
So either we're not talking about the same thing, and in that case a link to the page with the issue would help, or you're not editing the correct menu/module options, and it that case a link to the page with the issue would actually also help :)

Here is an example page from the site in development where this is happening: www.destroyallguitars.net/index.php/guitars/14-artinger

The page is reached by clicking the menu item (Guitars), then clicking the one category that is there (Artinger). The resulting page shows the category description and displays sub categories underneath - I do not want the sub categories "Artinger new arrivals" or "Artinger sales archive" to be showing because I want to create my own links to those areas separately.

I have attached a screenshot of the menu settings page for the Guitars menu item (HikaShop-->Display-->Content menus-->Guitars (the menu item I am trying to edit). You can see that I have selected "No child" under "Show sub categories."

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

So we're not talking about the same thing.

These options are to not display the sub categories list in each category box listed on the page. And as expected, you don't have a the listings of the sub categories in each category box on that listing: www.destroyallguitars.net/index.php/guitars

So it's actually doing what is should.

What you want to do though is not possible via the options provide with the categories structure that you have.
