Does Hikashop have a search bar that is able to be displayed so customers can search for items?

If so...where can I find it? I seem to either be missing it or it's simply not there.

Thanks

You have two options.

First, you can configure the HikaShop search plugins to be able to search products via the standard joomla search module.

Second, you can use filters:

Hello Nicolas,

Thank you for the response...but I tried to find that section, but as it turns out I cannot use it as I'm using the free version of Hikashop to see how it works & if I will keep it. Is there a way to do this in the free version?

Thanks

The second option is indeed only in the Business edition.

But the first option is possible with all the editions. So simply configure the HikaShop search plugins via the plugins manager and then you can use the joomla search module for that.

Ok, I think I found the plugins for Hikashop (screen shot attached)...but I don't see any search plugin listed. Am I looking in the wrong place?

You're at the correct place and I can see the search plugins on your screenshot... Please read carefully... lines 5 and 6 of the listing.

Ok...it's official...I'm going blind. Not sure how I missed both of those. Thanks & Sorry

Ok, after looking at those, and checking out their options...I am not understanding how to do what you say. There are no options to configure the plugins to allow the Joomla search module to handle.

It's the option named "enable" that you need to turn on in the search plugins.

Hi,

Have you published and set a postion to the Joomla search module ?
Ours plugins use the Joomla search, so you have to display the Joomla search module.

Awesome! That was the problem, it was enabled, but there was no position set for it! Now I just have to toy with it & find a good position.

Thank you very much Xavier!!!

Mods...consider this closed/solved. Thank you!

Ok scratch that last post...it's not solved. Sorry I jumped the gun.

The search box is up, but it is not returning any results. The module that I found in Joomla is "Smart Search Module". Is this the correct one?

I want it to search products on my site...so maybe I don't have one of the search modules set correctly? I'm going to toy with it further to see if I can figure it out...but any tips would be appreciated.

Ok...a little bit of toying found 2 other search modules...but when enabled, and I type something in them to search, they error out.

Image #1 is of the modules I found

Image #2 is of the error I get when I use either of the modules titled "Search"

Image #3 is of the screen I get when searching for something I KNOW I have listed.

I tried the 2 "Search" modules for Image #2 and they both did the same thing. Which one is the correct one, and what should I do here? Once I have it all set, I will only have one search bar...I just enabled the 3 at so I can compare what they would so I could post here.

Thanks

You have to use the Joomla search module which is generally named "Search" and not "Smart search".
Smart search is maybe a module installed with another component.

Try to use the default Joomla search module, it can be added by creating a new module.

Ok...I deleted the Smart Search module and confirmed it wasn't tied to anything else.

I deleted the other two modules listed as "Search" and I made a new Search Module as you stated.

Still getting the error attached. Any thoughts? Thanks

Hi,

You have an error with the "virtuemart search plugin". Please unpublish it.
