Bridging to Accounting Applications

Hi all,

I know this has part covered in bits and pieces elsewhere but I am trying to work out the options in doing it (I even posted on Commercial Jobs but had no reply.

The section on Plugin & API provides the idea that it can be done but not sure how to do that.

There is something else I came across called Zapier . While Joomla is not yet supported, is there any thought of Hikashop do so? (It would open Hikashop to any Accounting/inventory system - if I understand the blurb correctly.

As mentioned, I have posted on the Commercial Jobs section but no reply.

I would really like to be able to do this (with Hikashop) and will contribute to its development.

Hi,

We don't plan on integrating with Zapier, at least not for now.

The issue is that each accounting system has its own format to import data or for their APIs. And it's even more complex than payment plugins as there is potentially a huge work to be done to be able to support all the cases (for example multiple tax rates).
We have released on the forum a plugin to be able to export CSVs of sales which are compatible with quickbooks which is an accounting software. That way, you can easily import your sales in there.

It could be a good starting point for you to integrate with your accounting system.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for the information.

The idea is to have not only Hikashop communicate with accounting/inventory but also vise versa.

I think that it can be done via Zappier and does not have to be Hikashop specific as a Zap can created to from SQL to the required software so when a new record is created it sends that info via Zappier.

If this works I will report back as it would potential open this capability right up.
