Strange bug causing order issues

Hi guys. I have intermittantly been having real troubles completing orders for a event we are holding.

This is a free event. Users are asked to go here:

www.wodrocket.com/index.php?option=com_h...duct&task=show&cid=5

and sign up. However when they do, occasionally (20% of the time), i see a order come thru for other "products" like "shirt size" or other. "shirt size" is not even related to this item, so I have no idea how people are getting this into the system, but it is a total problem.

Any idea what is causing this behavior?

Hi,

Have you this kind of products on your website ?
To avoid this problem, you can maybe use a limit on the main product category, this will limit the product quantity to 1 for a cart.
So only the event will be in cart.

I do have these products on the site. It is crazy. I am wondering if it could be due to the fact that the mystery products which magically show up are not in categories??

please see the screenshot.

If you don't want people to order the shirt size products, you should unpublish them.
Or maybe I didn't understand what you're talking about ?

No i have the shirt options in "uncategorized". Call them Products A & B.

I have a product for sale, call it Product X.

I have had users who go here (example of product X)

www.wodrocket.com/index.php?option=com_o...ent&id=71&Itemid=118 ,

click "register" at the bottom, complete registration and then end up with orders for Products A & B on the back end (and nothing for product X). They have never visited my site before so they have no shirt cookies in their browsers.

I have called them to try to figure this out and am left scratching my head. one used a iPad, but i don't think that is it.

PS i need products A & B on the site, because they are needed for other products (as options).

Hi,

Ok, I understand better now.

Unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce the problem. So I don't know how that would happen :/

Would you have a step by step procedure to be able to reproduce the issue ?

I wish i had a step by step but i don't.

I have moved the shirts into a category hoping that might help. I will hope the issue resolves.

I will ask detailed questions if it happens again with a user. closing for now.
