Product image permissions wrong

Some background info:
PHO version 5.3.10
Joomla 2.5.7
HikaShop Starter 2.1.2
Enable FTP set to yes

When I add a new product and add a new images, the permission of the image is automatically set to "600" so the image does not display on the front end in IE, Chrome or Firefox. I know I can go update the permissions through ftp but I don't want to do this every time I upload a new product and the client who will use the system does not know about updating permissions through ftp. Is there no way for the permissions to automatically be set to 755 or 777?

Hi,
I think that you should change the permissions not on your new images but on the directory where you're uploading your hikashop images like /media/com_hikashop/images/products for example.

Thanks for your reply. I should have mentioned that I tried that with no success.

Product thumbnails are stores here: /media/com_hikashop/upload/thumbnail_100x100

I set the permissions for both "thumbnail_100x100" and "upload" directories to 777

Hi,

Does the FTP really necessary ?
I guess that is the source of your problem.

HikaShop uses Joomla to write the image in your website (JFile::write). After that Joomla will use his configuration to write it.
But we do not said anything on file permission, the component just ask Joomla to write the file. So it is something to modify in your FTP configuration.
There is nothing to do in HikaShop.

Sorry for dissappearing.

I set Enable FTP to No and this solved the problem.

I find this very weird though as Enable FTP is part of Joomla and should technically not effect product permission in Hikashop.

Nonetheless, thanks for you help.
