Hi. I am running joomla 2.5.11 with Hikashop 2.1.2.
I have the membership set to

login NO
email Simple registration
display email confirmation field yes

Basically when i shop on our site (when logged out) and add items to my shopping cart then is fine . if i click check out it takes me to registration page (i renamed it via language file).
then click to register (now confirm details).

this then brings the message that a confirmation email will be sent to your email address.

so i go the email address and click the link but it takes me to site with nothing in the cart..... is there s a way to see the items i put in the cart when the customer returns to the site after clicking the registration link? I don't want to have the account option open to the customer where they can edit the order and print invoices etc.

look forward to your reply

thanks

Hi,

Do you have a link to your shop site ?
The topic thread talk about a blank (I guess page) but you do not mention it in your message.

The cart is stored in the browser session if the user is not logged. When the user is logged, the cart is his session is copied in his account. So, do you open the link in the email with the same browser ? With same cookies ?

sorry for my terrible rushed typing!

blank cart.. not page. sorry.

at the time i did it it was using 2 browsers.... so i guess that explain that then!

if i was to create the menu option for the customer to log into their account, would they see what they put into the cart that way or would the cart content be lost on the other browser...?

thanks for your fast reply

The cart information is transferred from the session to the user account upon login.
If the user opens the activation link on another browser and then close it and comes back to his main browser and manually log in your website, he will keep his cart after the login.
