AlphaUserPoints and Shipping

Hi,

I'm having an issue with the setup of AlphaUserPoints. I'm using it for a kind of rewards program to encourage return customers.

Basically I would like the customers be able to pay for a product with their points. But I would also like them to still pay for shipping the product through bank deposit or paypal.

I've tried changing the "shipping" option in alphauserpoints payment method from "yes" to "no" and back.

Currently all this does - is it either incorporates the shipping in the amount of points deducted - or it fully ignores shipping and the customer gets their product without paying anything for shipping at all.

I've attached screenshots of my shopping cart flow and also the alphauserpoints configuration.

I'd like the cart to work as follows:
1) Customer earns "x" points
2) Customer chooses to pay with points
3) Customer also pays for shipping via paypal/bank deposit

This is how it currently works:
1) Customer earns "x" points
2) Customer chooses to pay with points
3) (shipping on) Customer pays for product + shipping with points
4) (shipping off) customer pays for product and gets free shipping

Hi,

In the current version of the plugin, the "virtual coupon" mode is not compatible with the "shipping" one.
It is something we want to fix but it require a important refactoring of the plugin.

Thanks, i'll keep an eye on it. I'll just stick to points will pay for shipping as well for the moment. I'm guessing the fix is a while off? :)

Hi,

If someone wants to do this fix, I will be happy to integrate the modifications.
The problem is, that this special "virtual coupon" mode has been introduce in HikaShop because someone asked for but the development was not this integration was not the right one.
The original plugin had some features that we had to reimplement in the other mode, but because we do not use the same discount process (discount VS additional), we don't have the same features (like the shipping discount).
So there is some points to improve in the plugin, in order to load the shipping prices and make a fine total. On the other hand, we have to check in HikaShop if the "additional" could right modify the shipping price.

I want to split the "alpha user points" plugin in several plugins. One to gain points with order, one to be used as a payment plugin, one to generate automatic discounts.
The actual plugin is a mix of all, and it becomes really complicated to maintain (because the three features are really different)
