Characteristics images and Option product

Hi,
for one product I have set a characteristic to choose the name. Only I want change the price. It works but changed the image tool: the tiny images are moving a bit and the image zoom by click on the tiny images don't work on other names. On the first default name its right.

Any idea to solve it?

Second thing: If I set a option on a product, the option appears like a new product and by using the last-product-module the option-product is shown like last added product. Have a look: www.nicething.de/nicething/index.php/news The option-product its named here "Glas Option" without image.
Is there a possibility to hide this?

Hi Jonas,

About your first problem, it simply come from the fact that your product name is too long. One solution is to add this code to your css file (System>Configuration>display>css):

#hikashop_product_right_part{
  width:50%;
}

Thanks, the solution of the second thing was simple - sorry, I haven't think about it well - now is working right.

The first thing no is question of css I think. The characteristic tool enabled my image-shadowbox: after choose a name (character) the images are opened like normal jpg's and no more in the shadow-box modus.
Furthermore is changing some css lines: the distance from the pictures and the "+" and "-" symbol from the quantity selector.
Any ideas?

One more thing. It's very difficult to change or ad new characteristics on an installed characteristic-selector (e.g.: ad a new name on "Name:"). I've tried with save the characteristics and the product-page on the backend. Some times is working but in mayor times not. Have a trick to handle this?

Hi Jonas,

Indeed I didn't understand your problem the first time.
However, the zoom and popup features look like something you added by yourself and the problem come from this integration.
The point is that the characteristic feature is doing some innerHTML and change the ids of the different element. So the code you added can't work anymore.
To make it functional, you have to override one of the Hikahsop JS function in order to adapt the zoom and popup scripts. It won't be easy.

About the characteristics, the best way to add a new one is to delete the old characteristic and re-import it. However, if you made some modification (on the price or whatever), simply adding it should update. If you encounter this bug again, tell me exactly how it happens, we will take a look.

I've forgot that here is a note for product-characteristics.

For the other thing. Yes, no problems with update the characters but ad a new one to an existing character is very difficult, e.g. on the second character on my page named "Farbe:" I set the same first line "Bitte wählen!" like the first character on "Name:". In the backend it is figuered well, but no appears on the frontend.

If I want set a lot of Names with different prices it is too much to create the hole character "Name:" always new, if I want only ad some names.

Hi Jonas,

Well if I understand your problem, it a normal behavior. Variants doesn't update when you add characteristics. You have to add a characteristic again if you modified it (by adding new value).
So the best for you is to add your values to the characteristic and then, add it to the product, it will regenerate the variants

yes it is like you and this discription ( www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...form.html#categories ) explain the characteristic tool. But no is very comfortable if one character have a lot of variants. After change the variants (add and delete) and set the character in the product again, I have to set all the values from the variants new.
I understand that each of the variants is created new by adding a new one - but for many variants is difficult to manage.

Quizas would give a easier way in the future?!

Indeed, I understand this is not really convenient.
Since we will work on the product edition page in the coming month, we'll try to think about it.
Maybe a message box could ask after adding a value to your characteristic if you want to update your variants.
