Hi,

I've created a new links for registration form but when I click on the link, it display "Category not found"
But, when I use the menu that has been created by Hika and it works.
I compare both of the configuration, it is the same except for the different position.
Any ideas why?

Hi,

Giving me a link to your website and telling me how did you created your category link will probably help me to understand from where your problem is coming ;).

Thanks.

gemboxjewellery.com/
on top of the image, there is a linked called "Register"

The steps I had created:
1.Go to the menu manage and create a new menu "Above Logo" and position it on position-30
2. Create a menu in "Above Logo" and menu item select HikaShop Registration Form.
3. Publish it.

The problem comes from the SEF system of Joomla which thinks that the menu item is a joomla categories listing menu item because there must be another menu item with a similar alias, or something like that.
If you deactivate the SEF on your website, I'm almost certain that the link will work which would confirm that.
I would recommend to change the alias of the menu item (and potentially its parent menu) and that should help.

This works. Thanks for that.
But, i would like to turn on sef and make the registration page works as well.
Change the alias to something else doesn't works and doesn't want the link to show too long parameter.
any idea?

Have you tried to change the parent menu alias too as Nicolas said ?

If you have duplicated alias with SEF, Joomla can't know here to redirect.

I've created the register menu as a parents and the alias is unique.
So the SEF shouldn't have duplicate.

Is it possible to have a screenshot of your configuration ?

My suggestion about turning off the SEF was just to confirm that it works in such case, not a permanent solution of course.
You didn't say if it worked ?

I see that the register link that you have there was added manually.
So I recommend to simply change the link that you added to use:
gemboxjewellery.com/index.php?option=com...iew=user&layout=form

And then turn back on the SEF and that should not produce that 404 error.

Sorry, turning of the SEF it works.
Initially, I had created the menu item and uses the registration form.
But, realize later on I need to change the top header to something else if user has login.
So, therefore, I had created a custom html instead of using the menu.
So, I just copy the link for href register.
I guess in custom html when setting the href, is there a way to hide the the link that show index.php/component/hikashop/user/form?Itemid=516
to something shorter such as gemboxjewellery.com\register

Thanks for you help.

If you want to change the link, you'll have to either use custom htaccess rules or more simply a SEF alias plugin like this one:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/sef/21251
