Include stock quantity but not for customer?

Hi,
I am just setting up the basic shop at the moment.

Is there a way to include the stock quantity so that it does not show to the customer? I really don't want them to see that I have only, say 5 items, but I do want those items to be limited so that customers are not purchasing something that has already sold.

Sure, you can use a translation override to change the text of the stock display, and you can also hide it with some CSS code.
