Price By Geographical Location

Hello ,

please advice about the following feature we want to have in our new eccomerce.


we want to be able to show different price for a product according the geographical location (according his ip propably) of the user for example a user that visits the website from Paris we want to show different price from the user that will visit the website from England .

is that able to have this feature on hikashop?

I think that you'll be able to do that by using differents tax price regarding the zone.

You can have different prices for different currencies and then set
the currency when the user reaches the website using the geolocation
plugin of HikaShop.
The limitation here is that you can't have a different price for
France and for Germany users as they both use the same currency and
there is no option to do that if you need it besides heavy
customization of the code.

To be more specific will have only Euro . We want to have for the country A the price one of the product and for all the rest of the countries the second price of the product.

you think to modify the currency converter for that solution is good solution . what you suggest?

As said Nicolas, if countries have the same currencies this can't work.
Since it's exactly your case and you can't edit currencies without messing up the payment system I don't see any other solution.

Just so I'm clear on this. The only way to have different prices for Products in Countries ( as long as they have different currencies)
Is to change the tax so that you increase/decrease the price.

And is this is the only way when the site breaks down the tax on the invoice the user will see this.

For example country UK has 20% VAT Tax but I have used 40% to get the product price I want. But the customer will see this in the tax breakdown in the invoice.

Another solution can be to use different shipping prices regarding your customer country ("zone" restriction option of your shipping method) and regarding your products, so you'll just have to :
- Use the "Use price per product" option of your shipping configuration page
- Go to your product configuration page
- Set a shipping price regarding the shipping method through the "Shipping prices" tab of your product configuration page.

Cool that sounds good. After spending some time I'm in the clear as Yu can specify different prices to currency and that is going to work for me.

but the zones might give me flexibility with regards the Euro

One other aspect I hit yesterday was adding a new currency to a product when I went to save I got a server 501 error. Have you seen this before?
