Hi,

I've decided to set up my site with the starter version of hikashop just to make sure I can figure everything out before I upgrade to the business version but I cant seem to get the Canada post shipping plugin to work properly.

I called canadapost got my merchant id, enabled the canadapost plugin and added weights and dimensions for the products but shipping options still don't appear when I go through the checkout.

I've attached a screenshot of my set-up and the website is www1.mumshealth.com the products page is here

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Nathan

Hi,

I can see that you have another shipping method configured. Please deactivate the other shipping methods and you will then see the error messages coming from the Canada Post plugin during the checkout and that will help you fix the problem.

Hi Nicolas,

I disabled it and all it returns is "No shipping method found".

I'm starting to think it it's a problem on the end of Canada post. I've called them twice and both times they told me that they sent me an email that would help me set up/activate it but I haven't gotten anything yet.

How bout I wait for them to send me that then get back to you so I don't waste your time running around?

Hi,
The best solution would probably be to sens me a temporary access to your website through a Private message for restons purpose.

Hi Nathan,

Have you configured shipping options with CP? If your delivery options in Hikashop don't match those in the CP configuration, you could get that message. There may be other config changes that will help.

The access you need for this is through the CP program called Sell Online (the user name is the your merchant ID). I don't recall the details about how I got that account set up, but I usually find them helpful over the telephone.

Also look over some of my posts from around last fall when I was trying to solve the same issue. For example

www.hikashop.com/en/forum/4-how-to/74797...-checkout.html#76159

Hi,

I've done some test through your website and it seems like your server is not able to contact the server cybervente.postescanada.ca on the port 30000 using cURL or is redirecting your request though another port. So I invite you to contact your hosting company to check with them that such connection is possible. If the port is 30000 closed, or outgoing connections forbidden by a firewall, your server won't be able to retrieve the rates from CanadaPost.

Thanks :).

I've double checked my CP configuration and it is the same as my hikashop settings. I actually saw your topic a couple of weeks ago when I was trying to figure it out myself but I couldn't solve it.

I'll contact my web host and ask them to unblock port 30000 hopefully that will solve the problem.

Thanks to everyone who helped me and a special thanks to anyone involved in this extension. It truly is a great piece of work.

Also I thought I'd bring up something that seemed a little odd. Not sure if it's specific to my site but when a user clicks the edit shipping info button 2 iframe windows pop up, and the second one is cut off.

I removed
class="modal hikashop_checkout_<?php echo $this->type;?>_address_edit"
from address_view.php and it solved the problem but I was just wondering if this was intended.

I don't think that the problem was coming from it, did you contacted your hosting company :) ?

My problem this week was with the port, but I don't think that's the case for you because, in addition to the "Shipping method not found" warning I got one about the connection to CP servers.

My hosting company is asking for the exact error message. If you have that could you please send it to me?

I haven't gotten a reply from my hosting company yet so I decided make a backup in case this doesn't work.
I have the spreadsheets for the expedited canada post pricing(the only one I really need).
Im using python to create a CSV file based on hikashop_shipping so I can import them as manual shipping options via phpmyadmin.

I'm kinda new to website stuff will having a whole bunch of different manual shipping options slow down my site?

There are over 99,000 different entries.

Hi,

1.
We never tried it but yes I think that your website will be a little slower.

2.
Regarding the error message : You'll just have to tell them that we are doing a CURL request through the port number 30000, and instead of having a normal response, we are having the displaying of the request link page, like if the request was redirected through the port number 80.

Okay, so for security reasons they will not open the port :/ I'll just find a work around.
Guess that's the end of that thanks for all your help anyway guys.
