Hover image category layout

Hello, I would like to know if is possible (or if there is a specific extension) to enable an "hover image effect" for a thumb in the category list.
A customer ask to me the possibility to show a picture when the product package is closed, and when the mouse is hover the image a new picture with the product package opened.

I think that you'll have to edit the code of your listing_div file of your category view of your front-end template, but it would require some development skill.
