hikashop content module dropdown

I have a hikashop content module that shows 4 basic categories and each category has 5 subcategories. There is a built in function that shows a dropdown listing of the subcategories everytime i click on it's parent category.

Is it possible just by hover on a parent category to show the subcategories? i would like to click only one time, directly on the subcategory without first clicking on the parent category, and then choosing the subcategory from the dropdown.

No Eliot I believe you didn t understand the case.
I need to open the categories on hover, not on click. Thats because some categories are with subcategories so they don t have any products, but some are root categories with product.
So if i click to see the subcategory it reloads the page and its a little bit confusing for the clients.

Hi,

The list uses the Joomla "JPane" Accordion system which use the Mootools "Fx.Accordion" feature.
It is possible to change the event of the trigger (not "click" but "hover") but the problem is, there is no option in Joomla to set the value.

But it might be possible to override it by javascript, by unloading the accordion and recreate it with better parameters.
It requires some PHP/Javascript skills.

Hi Jerome!
Is it possible for you to do it? I m asking because it s not only for me its generally a problem to load a page with no content when you wan t to load the subcategory contained? Or can you let us choose another way (library) in the backend of the module to make it work like I told you?

Hi,

What Jerome means is that this is only possible with a really ugly patch to joomla accordion system.
It could potentially be done by a developer for your website.
But that's not something that we will add as an option by default in HikaShop as it will be hard to maintain.
Maybe a nicer way would be to redo the whole accordion system with jquery/bootstrap instead of the mootools capabilities of Joomla.
But in any case, that's not something we would do in the short term.

So I would advise you to contact a third party developer to help you with that modification if it's something that you want for your website.
