category listing versus product listing

Hello,

I'm building a small shop - about 50 articles, with Hika bussiness. Is it neccessary to use category listing or can we just use product listing? Is there a disadvantage?
When I do so, how do I get the numer of articles in the product listing page? Or is that not possible (only available in the category listing page?)

Product listing and category listing are not necessary at all, you can either use one or the other, both, or none of them according to your needs.
It really depends of what you want on your shop. For a small business I would suggest to create few menu redirecting to product listings.
About the number of product, it's displayed at the bottom of the page next to the pagination.
However, if you want to display it, you can easily edit the view and I can give you the code to add.
