Product Import CSV

Hi All

Forgive me if I have missed doc's relating to this.

I am establishing a site that will link to another when a customer clicks on a product. I will need to import the links via a csv file (initially manually and then using a Cron Task). My first challenge is how to format Hikashop to accept csv headings that are not consistent with the current format i.e. CSV lists - name, whereas Hikashop requires product_name. I understand i could change the headings manually to make this work however this is not going to work if i set up a Cron Task. Is there a way i can format this in custom fields maybe???

Not sure where to start so any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do you exactly want your website to link to your other website's link and where do you exactly want import your link ?

O.K sorry poorly worded.

I have a site that is an affiliate for Commission Factory. I join a Merchant whom supplies a data feed in either XML or CSV. The file contains a product listing with the headings in the format of "name" as opposed "product_name" as required by Hikashop. I need Hikashop to accept the Merchant''s format without manual changes to the file as I will eventually have this process handled by Cron. How do I manage this?

I want to display on my site products with images that when the customer clicks on the product it directs them to the Merchant site for purchase.

Hi Darren,

About the column name it will require to change the Hikashop behavior. It's quite a big modification since you have to modify the import.php in administrator/com_hikashop/helpers, I'm not sure it's the best solution.
About the clickable images you will also have to edit Hikahop layout, go in Display>Views and edit listing_img of product to do your modification and add the link on the image.
