Add a Link to the product listing page

I currently have an add to cart button or choose options link in the product listing page. I can switch this off via the admin area but would like to replace the add to cart button with a Get Details Link or Read More. I have copied this code <a href="<?php echo $link;?>">Details</a> and it seems to work ok, wouldl.ike to confirm this is a viable solution?

If you did this in an Hikashop view trough our views edition system there is no reason you can have problem with this .
