I want to sell gift certificates on my webshop and with these certificates they can buy the products on my webshop. so I need to generate new serial nrs for my custumors. Do you have to give them in manually or is there an easier way?

Might be a stupid question but it's all a bit chinese to me at the moment...

Thanks!

Hi,

For generating gift certificates, the best is to use the "coupon generator".
www.hikashop.com/en/hikashop/139-hikaser...-coupongen-form.html

1/ Create a HikaShop discount which will be used as the "template".

2/ Create a coupon generator configuration
www.hikashop.com/en/hikashop/139-hikaser...-coupongen-form.html

3/ Create a pack and assign your coupon generator to this pack
www.hikashop.com/en/hikashop/116-hikaserial-pack.html

4/ Assign the pack with a product

Each time the product will be bought, a serial from the pack will be assign to the buyer.
If there is no available serial in the pack, the generator will be use to create a new serial (and in your case, a coupon).

After that, you can configure the plugin "attach serial" in order to include an image in the order confirmation email.

Hi,

You have to configured your shipping methods and put a weight on all "real" products.
The "virtual" products (your gift card) won't have any weight so won't be taken in the shipping process.
Note that you have to remove the option "force shipping" in the HikaShop configuration, otherwise it will take all products (with and without weight).

I see... I have a gazillion products without any weight... How about I give the certificates a weight?

Other thing I just noticed... How can I make sure a coupon can only used once? And what if they don't spend the coupon at once can the spend the rest of the amount later?

thx

Hi,

You can use the "Mass action" feature in HikaShop 2.2.0 to set a weight to all of your products (and remove the weight to the gift certificate product).

About the coupon, if your HikaShop coupon template have a restriction for the number of usage, it will work correctly.
But it is not possible in HikaShop to use partially a coupon and use the rest later.
