Hi,

I am using the latest version of Hikashop Business for a web site and I am having issues with the search not working properly. The website is beckwithsafes.com/index.php. When we search for a the category "Ranger" it works fine but when we click the result it opens up an empty page. Then When we search for a product such as "Dehumidifier" it doesn't display any results. Both the category and product search plug-ins are enabled and set up correctly.

We have enabled the debugging for you to see if there are any errors.

Please help us solve the issue. Thank you for your time.

Hi,

The search plugins are not configured correctly. Apparently, you left the itemid fields of the plugins empty. You should enter in them the id of a category/brand listing menu item for the links to work properly.

Thanks Nicolas. That worked for the brand problem. The page now opens to the correct page but if I search for a product such as "Dehumidifier" it still isn't showing any results. For the product search plug-in I added the Product page's id to it as well.

Please advise. Thanks.

From what I can see, the products are only searched in the category with the id 2 and not the sub categories on your website.
So either you don't have sub categories which are published and accessible, or your products are not in that main category 2 but somewhere else.
As I don't know how you configured your categories and products it's hard to say precisely but the query to search in the products is correct as far as I can see.
Could you screenshot a screenshot of your category explorer and the products in the different categories ?

Hi Nicolas,

We placed our categories within the Brand section since it made more sense to classify our groups as brands rather than product categories. That may be the issue. Attached is a screenshot of our explorer.

Thanks.

Hi,

That indeed comes from that.
The categories are supposed to be under the product categories, while the brands in the brands.
And in the products, you need to select a brand in the brand dropdown and categories in the category area.
Otherwise, it won't work properly.

So you can simply add the product category as a second category of your products and the products will then be displayed in the search results.
