Hikashop Business Upgrade problem (joomla2.5)

Hi Nicholas

Having problem to upgrade after buying hikashop business

While trying to upgrade using the downloaded business version zip file through joomla's extension manager

encounter : There was an error uploading this file to the server. in joomla error msg

what could i do for this?

Hi Nicholas

I manged to upgrade by upload the zip file to server and using url install

but after upgrade i getting a lot of misposition and error on my live site @@"

take a look www.dreamzfashion.com/index.php , all the unit, price currency are not showing correctly in front end

in backend, i encounter similiar problem on all place , check the attached image

Hi,

Can you try to re-upload this file ? or to download it again and install it ?
If it still display and error message, that's maybe coming an access rights issue on your website.

Please try to install via FTP as explained here .

Dear Thelji

i got no problem while installing other extension or templates, only hikashop business hit the error

but i managed to solve that by using url install

but another big problem comes out as

i getting a lot of misposition and error on my live site @@"

Hi,

This means that there is an error in your language file. Turn on the debug language mode option of the joomla configuration and go again on the page with the issue. Look at the bottom and joomla will tell on which line of which language file the error is.

Ok, We found out what the problem was and we fixed it, so you should just :
- Go to "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Language->'YOUR LANGUAGE FILE'"
- Use the Load the latest version from our server button and SAVE

Then it should fix your problem.

i did try this method at the very begining but it fails, so it is the ini file problem right?

Yes it seems to be the ini file the problem, can you try to load the latest version and remove your overrides to see if it's working fine ?
You can too try to delete the override file via ftp.

hi, regarding this problem i found that is not my server problem, if i using the free version package the installation is smooth without error

but if i use the the business version, i will 100% hit There was an error uploading this file to the server. error and only can install through FTP method

Hi,

That's because the Business edition package is bigger than the Starter edition package (it has more features in it, so of course it is bigger). Your server has a low maximum upload limit, thus with the starter edition package you are below it, while with the Business edition, you are above it.
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it and the Starter edition package will soon also go above your upload limit as we keep adding new features.

Really, such a low upload limit should be raised by your hosting company if you ask them.

hi

starter version is 1.7mb and business version is 2.4mb

however my upload limit is 5m , post size 8m, memory limit is 32M

yet the business version is not working on my other VPS as well (using same OS and control panel)

Hi,

It can be different things:

First, the package is uploaded by joomla. Here, if the upload limit is too low, it will not work.
Second, the package is extracted by joomla. Here, if the memory limit or the maximum execution time is too low, it will not work.
Third, the files of the package are copied to their destination by joomla. Here, if the access rights on the folders of your website are not correct, it will not work.

In all cases, the install issues are generated between joomla's extension install process and your server capabilities and restrictions. Not much we can do to avoid them besides telling you to do an install via FTP which circumvents the two first kind of issues.

I can assure you that the install is working fine on all servers as long as the resource limits aren't too restrictive.
