Payment methods after upgrade to 2.2.0

Hello,

After upgrade to 2.2.0, the following issue occured.

In my previous version of the shop, during checkout process, if a customer selects a payment or shipping method, the selected methods are were highlighted with a main colour of the web site.
However, after the upgrade they are not highlighted and it is not visible for the customer, which of the methods are selected.

See attached image for details.

Can you help me to figure out the issue?

(I am using a RocketTheme template, if this helps.)

Hi,

I think that this is probably a CSS issue, can you give me a link to your website and show me a screenshots of how do you exactly want to display your selected payment method ?

It is most probably some CSS issue.

I will PM a link to a live site.

Please also see screenshot of web site before the upgrade (you may see buttons of selected items are highlighted with some color, so customer can easily see what is his choice of payment and shipment methods):

I don't think that his is a CSS issue :



The problem is actually coming from the fact that you have no payment method selected when you are redirected to the checkout, did you set your "Auto select default shipping and payment methods" option to YES through "Hikashop->System->Configuration->'Checkout'" ?

Actually it was not set. However, even after a customer selects some method manually, it remains same color (not highlighted with a special color like on the above example).
Also I think problem comes not from this option, because it was working well before the upgrade.
I have just set this option to try it. However, it did not resolve the issue. Still a customer can't see which payment and shipping methods are selected.

Can you look again?

I've done it through the last version of Chrome and Firefox and now the payment method is automatically selected when I go through the checkout, you should have changed the "Auto select default shipping and payment methods" option :).

I have set the option "Auto select default shipping and payment methods" to "Yes".
I have cleared my browser cache and history.
I have rebooted my PC.
Nothing helps.

Regretfully, right now I don't have another PC on my hands to try it.
But anyway, this is rather strange issue..
Will try to check it again at my side.

Somthing is definitely wrong. I came back after a long travel and now I have tried it with different PCs. I have also tried with iPad.
Neither PC, nor iPad work properly.

Of course, my "Auto select default shipping and payment methods" is set to "Yes". But even after I select manually another shipping or payment method, the selected method is NOT highlighted.

I have tried many various tools: clearing cashe, opening an incognito window, changing browsers etc. Nothing helps me.

Mohamed, now I understand how you reached the result. But still I can't figure out the cause of this incorrect behavior.

There are two different ways to get to checkout:
1) Through menu item (Menu Item Type: Hikashop > Checkout). I land at this page: /basket
2) Through a popup window that shows link to checkout. I then lend at a different page: /products/top/checkout

The first page does not highlight the selected methods.
But the second one works properly.

Do you have any idea?...

Hi,

I recall such problem with one of the first builds of the 2.2. But we fixed that since then. Can you try to download again the 2.2 on our website and install it on yours to get the latest build ?
If that doesn't help, then maybe you have edited some of the views of the checkout ? Could you try to remove these customizations via the Display->Views menu if any ?

If that still doesn't help, you said that it worked with one link but not another one, so I recommend you to use the "force a menu on checkout" option of the configuration to force the system to always display the checkout with the menu which works and that should help.

Thank you for hints.

I do have "checkout / step.php" view modified.
Therefore I have just removed the modification and tried without it. The view has changed, but the issue is not resolved.
So, at the moment, I reverted back to my modified view.

I have also noted your recommendation. However, the problem is that checkout from menu is NOT working. The working link comes from a popup window after I press "Add to cart" button.

I have just downloaded and installed latest version of Hikashop.

The issue has not gone..

Additionally, I have just discovered that this thread is closely related to the captioned issue:

When I try to modify address from the alternative link, it does not redrects me to category listing. However, it does from menu module...

Hi again,

I am stuck with this issue.
It really stops me from any further activity.

I don't really understand what is the difference of these two ways and why it happens.

Nicolas also recommended to use "force a menu on checkout". However, I have found that after I set this option to the menu "/basket" (which is Hikashop -> Checkout menu), it redirects me from the only possible alternative way. Now, whatever way I come to the backet (/basket or /products/top/checkout) it takes me to /basket. And as you already know, the /basket is not working!
So, I have set "force a menu on checkout" to "None".

To look at the difference on my site, first add any product from any category:
www.freshfash.com.ua/products/top

Then try two different ways:

1) Go to basket from menu:
www.freshfash.com.ua/basket

2) Go to basket from a window which popups at "Add to Cart" button:
www.freshfash.com.ua/products/top/checkout

The first way does not work at all:
- The selected payment and shipping methods are not highlighted.
- I can't change my address: it redirects me to category listing (as shown in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBNQf6EKgw8&feature=youtu.be ).
- I can add, but I can't remove coupons (when I try to remove, it also redirects me to category listing screen).

The second way works duly:
- The selected payment and shipping methods are duly highlighted.
- I can change my address.
- I can add and remove coupons

Hello Xavier,

I have deleted Hikashop Checkout menu and created it again.
Now the strange issue with non-highlighted shipping an payment methods has gone. Thank you.

However, still I have following problems:
- I can't change my address: it redirects me to category listing (as shown in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBNQf6EKgw8&feature=youtu.be ).
- I can add, but I can't remove coupons (when I try to remove, it also redirects me to category listing screen).

My force menu is set to /basket.
I can not set it to /products/top/checkout, because it is not a menu path and therefore it is not listed among possible variants of the "force menu" option.
Also, I truly believe that "force menu" option is nothing to do with this. The weird redirect occures not at checkout button. It happens at the moment I confirm my address from popup window. After I confirm my address the page is not supposed to redirect me to anywhere. It is supposed to stay where it is.

Xavier, Nicolas, Mohamed, all of you have already been involved into this thread for some days, but still no result...

Hi,

The redirection to the category listing is a Joomla bug which does not send the "view" parameter from the menu configuration to HikaShop.
We made a patch about it in the last build yesterday afternoon. Several people using Joomla 3 had the same kind of problem so we investigated.
Nicolas patched your website. It seams that this problem is not fixed.

So, is there another problem now in your checkout ?
