Getting an email before payment has been made?

Hi there

I am setting up and testing Hikashop and using PayPal. When I select a product and add it to the cart, and then proceed to the checkout and next (to pay), I am redirected to the PayPal site. If I then press continue, as if to pay with a credit card (with false details in), PayPal obviously rejects the payment but I get an email saying e.g.

"The order is now created.

This notification was for the order H7 on the website www.theteacher.info/ "

Is this correct? Why would I receive an email before a payment has been confirmed as taken by PayPal?

Thanks.

Hi

That email is send when the order is created, at the end of the checkout, before sending you to the payment platform.
It's useful for several things:
- people can pay orders not paid immediately.
- website owners can use that for quotations.
- for the notification for order paid via bank transfer, check, credit card collect, western union, etc.

A second email will be sent to the user when the order is confirmed, after the payment.

If you want to deactivate that order creation email, you can disable it via the System>Emails menu in the Business edition.
