Hello
We have a very small shop. I would like to realize the following simple payment-in-advance method without any third party involved (Paypal, credit card etc.):

1. customer puts goods into the shopping cart
2. customer receives an PDF invoice with the bank account informations
3. customer pays in advance
4. We ship the goods

I did not find a way to realize this so far. How can I achive this?

Hi,

I think that you'll be able to do it with a basic checkout workflow then for the step 2, your customer will be notified with the Order creation notification email. so if you want to add the bank account information you can edit this mail through the business version, or if you want to add a PDF in this mail I think that you'll just have to use this plugin .

Hope this will help you a little.

Hi Mohamed

thx for your reply. I've tried it, but need some more infos:

1. The system keeps on asking me to specify a payment method. However, they are all related to some sort of third party involved. Which payment method should I use? Is there kind of a "neutral" payment method?
2. Where can I modify the Order creation notification email?

regards

1. You can use the "bank transfer" payment method for that.

2. You can modify the email via the menu System>Emails in the Business edition. There is however no need to edit the email directly. It's possible to modify the text of the emails, like any text in HikaShop via translation overrides:
www.hikashop.com/en/download/languages.html#modify

Hi Mohamed

I am getting to grips, thanks for your help. I've tried to install the PDF plugin, alas Joomla claims "no XML file", but it's there. Maybe a problem that I am using Joomla 1.5?

Indeed the installation of the plugin doesn't handle joomla 1.5.
I've added that. Please download again the plugin on our website and you should then be able to install it on Joomla 1.5

Hi Mohamed

thx for your effort. Plugin is now installed and activated. There is no PDF attached to the invoice, however. Your description states:

1) Download the plugin on our website
2) Install it on your Joomla website (extension manager)
3) Enable the plugin

Do I have to do anything more to get the PDF? And how do I adapt the PDF to my layout wishes?

There is nothing else to do. The invoices will be attached to the order status notifications automatically.
There are only two options if that's not the case:
1. You have an old version of HikaShop where the trigger using by the plugin to add the PDF to the email is not present. So updating HikaShop will make it work.
2. You are not looking at the order status notifications but order creation notifications which are sent when the orders are created but not yet confirmed (thus not yet paid). The PDF invoice will only be sent if the order is confirmed since you don't want to send an invoice if the payment hasn't been done.

If you want to adapt the PDF, you can copy the file plugins/hikashop/attachinvoice/attachinvoice/invoice.php to media/com_hikashop/plugins/invoice.php and modify that copy. You can do that via FTP or a joomla file manager extension.

Sorry nicolas, I did not realize the change. . .Hello and Thanks for your super service. I understand now how it works and managed the workflow problem. One thing I don't understand:

copy the file plugins/hikashop/attachinvoice/attachinvoice/invoice.php to media/com_hikashop/plugins/invoice.php and modify that copy.

There is no plugins folder under media/com_hikashop/, just css;images;js;mail and upload. Shall I create the folder? Is it a typo?

Best

Yes, you should create it. There is no folder by default since there is no plugin override by default :)

Hi Nicolas

PDF invoice is now working. I miss the bank information on the invoice though. Is this normal? Do I have to modify the invoice.php to achieve this?

Yes that's normal and yes you would have to modify the invoice.php to add it if you want.
Usually you don't add bank information on an invoice, that's why you don't see it there.
