Hello,
I have a question...I noticed that change the last part of a Hikashop Url, doesn't appear the 404 page..
for example: www.mysite.com/shop-online/cat/33-product.html is the correct url, but change like this
www.mysite.com/shop-online/cat/33-whatever.html the page open correctly instead error 404...
so I think Hikashop considers the ID page, is it correct?
For SEO this is terrible...how can I change this?
thanks...

Hi,

And it is the same thing for the rest of Joomla SEF, like a link for an article.
And it's the same thing for a lot of other websites which does not use Joomla or other CMS.

It's not terrible for SEO because the link is not referenced.
And that's why the canonical URL exists :)

Thanks! My SEO consultant scared me with the duplication url by ID...but you're right, the same is for Joomla article and my websites are in the Google serp.
Another question: the canonical URL, for the duplicate URLs that Hikashop generates (es. component/ or manifacturer/ or product/), is the right solution? Or the redirect plugin is a better idea?

thnaks so much

Hi,

Canonical URL is for search engines. Even if a page is "duplicated", the canonical url will notice the search engine which page should be referenced. There is no redirection or other thing. It's just for the SEO
Redirection is not a good solution because you can loose information (like the breadcrumb, or else).

For the user it's not something problematic to have "duplicate" url (which are not really duplicate).
