OK, this is my first go with Hika Shop. Normally I would use a different platform but for the project I really wanted to use Joomla. I am currently testing the starter edition. I am considering purchasing the business edition but have a configuration question. Or rather an SEF url question.

I use SH404 SEF with Joomla installations and want that to handle the URLs for Hika which it does to some degree but I still dont like how it configures the URL and want to change it.

I have set up a menu item to be "Store" for Hika Shop.

My urls end up like this. mysite.com/store/category/mycat.html or the "product" piece is put in there. While this may be ok for some I want my urls to be like this

mysite.com/store/mycat.html or mysite.com/store/mycat/myproductname.html (for a product) or mysite.com/store/mycat/mysubcat.html | mysite.com/store/mycat/mysubcat/myproductname.html .

Basically I want to cut out all the other terms and still include the category and sub category and product name. I can do this through SH404 manually every time I create a category or product but this is not conducive to productivity. I would like SH404 to be able to do this on its own with out me having to edit every single time. I read elsewhere on this forum about "sef_ext.php" but my question is what do I need to change to get my URLs the way that I want them all the time.

With this, I need it to assign a page title because right now especially for products it doesnt give a page title that makes any sense.

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. If I can get it resolved there is a good chance that I will purchase the Business platform.

Hi,

If you don't like the way the URLs are generated and want a different structure of the URLs, it would indeed either require to enter each URL in SH404sef, or develop a custom integration to generate the URLs like you want. But such process is complex even for skilled developers. It would require a careful development by a professional developer to do that. So it's possible but it's not something we can just tell you to change one or two lines of code here and there to make it work like you want.

Regarding the page title, in each product, there is a "page title" setting where you can enter the page title that you want. So I don't see the problem you're having ?

Well that is unfortunate. I am setting this site up for someone who is not the most technical person and there is no way I can explain to them how to go and fix this every single time they add a product. It would be nice to have sh404 integration as for SEF and SEO so far it is the best that I have seen in how it handles the URL. Unfortunately because I cannot have the URL the way I want it I will have to keep looking for another option. I thank you for the reply have a good day.
