Filter from root

Hi,

Is it possible to change the filter so that i can search from the root category? For some reason we have products in a folder outside the main 'products' folder in the category tree. This means that they are no included when i use the filter to do a search as i cannot select both categories. It would take a long time to move everything around i think without disrupting the site and menus. Is it possible for me to implement something where the search (filter) will work from the root of the category tree rather than one of the folders within?

Also for some reason whatever i put in the search box it always returns the same products

I would update hikashop but we have custom shipping intergrations i dont want to affect.

I have applied the filter to product_name but it doesnt seem to make any difference. If there has been an update to the search are you able to let me know the files to patch?

Hi,

1/ About filters
Can you please provide us some details about your filter configuration.
It looks like the filter is not processed at all.
And if you want to display more products from more categories, you can just change the "category" in the product listing menu/module.

1/ About the Joomla search plugin (even if you are not using it)
The search plugin look for product in categories with the category_type "product".
There is not root configured in the plugin for the search.
So you have to be sure that your outside categories right have this category_type set (and also, are published).

(Note: for batch processing, the mass action are still quite useful )

Hi Jerome,

I moved the folder from root back to product categories and now it seems to work ok I was worried it might break URLs thanks anyway for your help.
