Good morning

I host my webshop at Siteground and am well pleased with it.
One thing:
A Siteground "Go Geek" account has a limit of 450.000 inodes.
With any othe site that is not an issue.

Hikashop however saves thumbnails of product pictures in /media/hikashop.com/etc

Is there a method to prevent the number of different sizes?
There are hundreds of folders.

OR:
can I delete some of these folders every once and awhile?

Hi,

I think that you tried many different dimensions for your images in Configuration > Main > Images, right ?
If it is, so every time you changed that settings and you navigate through your website, the thumbnails were automatically generated.

Now as you have find the desired size, you can delete all the thumbnail folders, this way the thumbnails will be created only in the new selected size and avoid to have so many folders.

There are not hundreds but THOUSANDS of folders

Yesterday I deleted 9000 of them and this is not the end!

Is this normal?

Hi,

Old versions of HikaShop were creating one folder for each specific thumbnail size. Now it only creates one folder for the desired size and put all the thumbnails generated for it under there, even if they don't exactly have that size.
So if you updated HikaShop from old versions and never cleared the folders, it's possible. With the new system in recent versions of HikaShop it's not possible.
