Separate shipping & billing address - Akeeba Subs

I'm running Akeeba Subscriptions with Hika Business. As we sell physical goods, some customers need to enter different addresses for shipping and billing. However, in the checkout process, there is only the billing address, and once this is updated, the shipping address is automatically overwritten.

If there was any way to link Akeeba Subs custom fields to Hikashop custom fields, we could at least work our way around it.

What can I do?

Thank you!

Hi,

In the common HikaShop checkout there is the shipping address.
The customer can set two different addresses, on for the billing and one for the billing.

Have you the shipping step in the checkout workflow ? Does your product have a weight ?
If it is, the billing address part should be present.

You might want to re-think Akeeba Subscriptions. It is being discontinued.

OK, I can't get the URL link to create a link. Here is the URL:

Hi,

We have in our TODO list to develop our own subscriptions system in HikaShop.

Do you have any integration into Community Builder?

There is a small one here:

But it might not be what you're looking for.

Since that application shows the CB users orders, then the user account is already linked. Does that mean that if someone was a CB member, was already logged into the website via the CB login module, and they went to the HikaShop store section for the first time, added an item to their cart, went to Checkout, that their account information would be automatically retrieved so they don't have to enter it?

No that plugin doesn't handle that.

Nicolas,

Maybe that plugin doesn't do that direclty but if it is displaying orders for a CB user, then it has to have the CB user account information linked somehow into the HikaShop. Is this built into the core HikaShop application or is it some type of CB User plugin?

Luke

HikaShop is not linked to the CB user account in any way. When you register/login through CB, it creates the joomla user data/session and HikaShop integrates with the joomla user data/session. That's how we know which user it is. We don't need to access the CB data.
