Advice for using with PayPal

Hi there, I was just hoping I might get some advice on using HikaShop with PayPal. I've just started setting up shop on a tennis website and we're going to be selling racquets to begin with. I'm new to all of this and was just wondering what might be the best way to do things.

At the moment, here's the plan. We're going to have the racquets along with a couple of options (grip size (several), string type (several and with different costs) and string tension. I assume I'll need to purchase the "essential" package to handle all of that?

My next concern is when and where to put taxes. Should I just leave that alone and let PayPal handle it? Or should I put it in HikaShop so they can see it in the shopping cart? Suggestions? Af I add it in HikaShop, do I then turn that off or something in PayPal?

And the same sort of question for shipping. We were considering having different rates for each province in Canada (we were just going to ship within Canada for now). Is that easier in PayPal or HIkaShop? Suggestions? Can I build in Canada Post somehow??

Thanks for any advice. I'm just looking to start things off the right way, hopefully with some advice from those with some experience. Thanks again.

Sorry, looks like I put this in the wrong spot but not sure how to move it. Anyway, since I wrote that I did see that there's a Canada Post plug in in HikaShop but even after looking through the help I'm not really sure the best way to set things up. Set rates or by weight and size or forget it all and say free shipping. Looks like a huge hassle. I guess when i say I'm looking for the best solution, I'm looking for the easiest. Thanks.

Hi,

1. Yes, you'll be able to do that with options in commercial editions:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/i...ct-form.html#options

2. Taxes should be configured in HikaShop via the menu System>Taxes, and yes, you should turn them off in PayPal.
We have a tutorial on tax setup available here:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/3...axation-listing.html

3. Shipping should also be setup in HikaShop. If you want the rates to be calculated automatically by Canada Post, we indeed have a plugin for that. However, it requires that you enter all the weights/dimensions of all the products.
You can also simply create one manual shipping method per province and in the restrictions area of the options of the shipping method, you set the province of Canada of the shipping method in the "zone" option. That way the shipping method will only display for that zone. Thus, you can simply have one different price per province.
