-- HikaShop version -- : 5.1.3
-- Joomla version -- : 4.4.9
-- PHP version -- : 8.2

Hi, I have been contacted by Worldpay advising that going forward they are bringing in new software/changes that appear will not work with the current Worldpay plugin?

It is something to do with 3DX Flex adding security.

Arethere any plans to upgrade the Hikashop Worldpay plugin?

Hi,

I'm surprised by what you're writing.

The link you provided is not for the API used by the WorldPay payment plugin we provide.
Our plugin is for the Worldpay Business gateway API.
Your link is for the Worldpay eCommerce API. That's another API.

What did Worldpay told you exactly ?

Did they tell you that they'll be shutting down the Worldpay Business gateway API and that you need to switch to the Worldpay eCommerce API ? If that's the case, they should have published some kind of official statement, with dates regarding the evolution of this. Also, it would require the development of a brand new payment plugin, from scratch.

Or did they tell you that if you're using the Worldpay eCommerce API, then the changes made to this API will require adapting the plugin you would be using so far to connect to it ? In that case, this doesn't concern you.

Hi, They phoned me out of the blue with this. They sort of hinted it would be compulsary going forward, don't know how true that is.

I suspect I have been idenitied for this as we are ecommerce.

Below is an email I recieved after 2 phone calls from them.

This provides a quicker checkout and reduces cart abandonment.

Virtual Terminal – Gives you a payment facility within your Worldpay Dashboard where customers can phone up and make a payment at the same cost of the gateway per transaction.

Pay by link – Gives you a payment facility where you can send them a link to pay. Great if someone can’t make the payment right there and then and also good if there was a language barrier with a customer for example.

Worldpay Dashboard – Access to an award-winning dashboard which will give you oversight of all your payments a bit like online banking but for businesses.

You can create and download reports etc. Not only this we can link the Dashboard up to Xero to feed your payment information through to save time etc.

Please find a YouTube video that you may find very useful for your business as discussed.

There are so many new upgraded features which will be beneficial to your business, some of them you will use and some maybe used in the near future, this will still save you so much time and money processing.
This is how to set it up

Hi,

It seems that this is their marketing propaganda to have you move to their new API sooner than later.
And the more merchants move to their new API, the sooner they can sunset the Business gateway API.

So:

1. I would not be too concerned for now as there doesn't seem to be anything compulsory for you. What you have right now is working for you, so why change ?

2. I can see they developed payment plugins for their new API for some ecommerce solution:
developer.worldpay.com/products/access/plugins
You can answer them that you're eager to move to the new API and that you'll do it as soon as they publish a plugin for it for HikaShop, similar to the plugins they developed for other ecommerce solutions.
If they publish a plugin for HikaShop for the new API, I see no reason preventing you from switching. But without a ready-made plugin, developing a new plugin from scratch is something which costs hundreds of euros.

;o)

I did exaclty that when I saw they had done 4 others but not Hikashop.

As I have only 3 years to go before retirement, I did also tell them if it was forced I would take my business elsewhere.

The beauty of a plugin is, it can be swithed off at any time.
