Is this possible?

I was wondering if the following is possible to create ......

- i have a menuoption called Webshop
- when i click on it i get a page that has a selfmade (no Hikashop) module that shows in a nice way pictures for all the categories
- when i click on one of the pictures i get a new page with either the subcategories or a productlist.

so far so good, but .....

on all the pages after the initial webshop page .... the page with the subcategories, the productlist and finally the page with the productdetails ....on all those pages the initial module with the categories remains visible.

Is it possible to have it only show on the Webshop page and not on the pages that follow after that?

I hope i was able to describe it in a clear way.
Thank you all in advance for any help or solutions.

Hi,

I think that you have to create a new menu, a hidden one, and this menu have to list the categories, then in you custom module, redirect to the other menu to show the category.

And in the joomla options of your module, assign it only to the menuoption "webshop".

Hope this will help you.

Thank you Xavier for your suggestion.

At first i thought i had it solved...but now ran into a different problem.
Now the module does appear only on the main menulink and not on the others....but now the links on the module no longer show the sub categories or productlist ...i get 404 errors on them now.

Hi,

It's because of the "menu" option of your module (you can find it when you edit the module via the menu Display>Content modules). It should be set to a valid categories listing menu item. The 404 errors mean that Joomla cannot find the menu which is specified in that option or that it is set to a menu item which is not a hikashop category listing menu item.
