Hi we have inherited a longstanding site that uses embedded within site eway plugin and we just added paypal ( standard) as payment method . The google anlaytics plugin wit hjecommerce settings is already correctly enabled.

Our problem is that very few of the paypal transactions appear in eccomerce translations of google analytics.

I am guessing this is because the data is only sent to google from the thank-you equivalent page ( and many people may not go there) - would that be correct ? and do you know a way for us to make improve this

Hi,

That's indeed correct.
You need to configure your PayPal account to redirect back the customers automatically to your website. Otherwise, only the ones who click on the "go back" button after the payment would be accounted for.
www.paypal.com/ie/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/m...turn_summary-outside
Note that you need to use the HikaShop main return URL :
index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=checkout&task=after_end

Unfortunately we cannot set up IPN on this account because the paypal account is used for several different websites.

However , we would be happy for the ecommerce transaction tracking to instead track orders created rather than sales (which would then capture everything and would not require)

I am thinking maybe we could move the ecommerce tracking transaction function to the onafterordercreate function - might that work?>

Can you help me find what the trigger is for the analytics ecommerce pushing data? and maybe suggest where we would move it to.

With thanks

Hi,

You can enable the option to redirect back the customer in your paypal account settings and fill the url in the HikaShop paypal settings, this way PayPal will redirect to the url given by the website.

Else you can to put the tracking in the "end" view instead of "after_end" in order to track all the orders even if it's not confirmed orders.
