Paypal - no shipping address on file

Hello,

Is there a way to force paypal to include a shipping address with an order? When a customer checks out they go directly to paypal and do not register within hikashop. This presents the problem of not knowing where to send the product ordered when paypal doesn't have an address on file.

Also, I had an order come in today that got refunded because the amount paid was different then the amount of the order. The buyer didn't enter a different amount. Any ideas of what's happening there?

Hi,

There is no option offered by paypal in their API for that. However, by default in hikashop, the address of the user is asked during the checkout so that you always have the address of the user.

Do you use a recent version of hikashop ? What was the two amounts (the one in hikashop and the one paid) ? In old versions of hikashop, there could be a rounding different between the price calculated by paypal and the price calculated by hikashop which might result in the payment being refused, so you might want to update...

Hmmm, I took out address from the checkout workflow when I decided to stop having users register. Do I need to add that back in? Currently, checkout is not asking users for their address.

I'll check to see if I'm running an old version of hikashop.

You can't have addresses without having it linked to a user. However, in commercial versions of hikashop, you can remove the joomla user account and only having the hikashop user entry with only the email of the user. You can do that by setting the option "registration" to "no registration"

So, does that also mean that I could ask for just their shipping address? I just need someway of making sure that I have a shipping address for each purchase even if paypal doesn't have it.

Well, the user email and the shipping and billing addresses, but users can just enter one and have the other being the same as the first.

I've upgraded to Essential and changed registration to "no registration". What else do I need to change in order to have hikashop ask for the shipping address upon checkout?

You need to go in the config in the checkout tab and add the text "login_address_" at the beginning of the checkout workflow.

ok. I'm making progress. login and address are back in checkout workflow. But now I have the return of my old problem which was that once login was implemented my payment and shipping methods disappear. Any ideas?

Someday you will be rid of me :)

FYI - I went through the documentation at www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/i...ins-listing.html#faq . I don't think any of them are issues, especially since both shipping and payment methods showed up fine before I added login.

One of the main tab of the configuration
One of the checkout before the problem and one after

That should allow us to understand the problem.

I think that the problem comes from your state field. It should be a dropdown with the list of USA's states but I see that it's a text input instead.
Could you go in the menu Display->Custom fields and edit the state field so that its type is set to zone and the zone option to state ?

Does that fix the problem ?

Thanks so much for sticking with me on this!

I now have the lastest version of hikashop so hopefully my earlier issue of different payment amounts won't reoccur. I haven't been able to replicate it anyway.
