Hi,

HikaShop includes two "search" plugins for Joomla ; one for products an another for categories.

Hi,

Like I wrote, HikaShop includes the plugins ; which means that they are in the package and they are installed in the same time than HikaShop.

Hi,

Our plugins allow to add the HikaShop results in the search when using the Joomla standard search module.
So if BT Smart Search don't use the standard Joomla search, it is not integrated with HikaShop and so it don't display the HikaShop results.

Or you don't have correctly setted up the HikaShop search plugins, in the settings you must fill valid menu item id, a product listing for the product one, and category for the other one.

Hello,
You'll have to use your menu ID which can be found through the menu listing on your menu manager page.

Hi,

Please forget about the "Itemid", it is useful only when the search is working and if you want to provide some specific links to the products/categories.
You can leave the field blank without any trouble...

We already give you an answer for that.
Please contact the "BT Smart Search" support in order to know more about the component and how it is working.

The HikaShop search plugins are working fine with Joomla or with some search components but we can't help you for a component we don't know and we do not develop.

this is strange coz it was the support team at BT Smart Shop who told me to ask you at HikaShop. Can't anyone take responsibility for something that doesn't work?

thanks for your reply Jeromoe but BT Smart Search is the ONLY search module that works. All the other search modules including Joomla Search return a blank page for every search. Maybe you can help with this latter issue then.

Hi,

Yes, in that case, turn on the errorreporting and debug mode of the joomla configuration and when you search via the joomla search module, if you get a blank page, you'll get an error message displayed that will help us tell you what to do

Hi,

So you should check your PHP error log or change the setting "error reporting level" to "maximum" in your Joomla global configuration.
It should help you to see the PHP error message.
(It is also explained in our FAQ www.hikashop.com/support/faq.html )

thanks for your patience and help Jerome but I'm still stuck here with a blank page and no errors at all when I perform a search even though I changed the setting "error reporting level" to "maximum and with the debug mode turned on. I also did not see anything having to do with this in the FAQ you mentioned.

Is the page completely blank ? If so, that it would mean that your server is configured not to display error messages and you'll have to look in the PHP error log of your web server for the fatal error message.
If no, then it probably just means that you didn't configure and activated the HikaShop products search plugin via the Joomla plugins manager.
