Event Registration Page not showing

I followed the instructions for "How to build an event registration page" exactly and the page I get from the link created is BLANK. I am 10 days behind schedule and need serious help with making a registration form for a conference work.

The site: healingheartsconference.com is live and the link I created is called "testlink" in the footer of the site. Does anyone know if there is a step missing from the instructions provided on the documentation page under "How to build an event registration page"? :(

Hi tolson,

It is maybe due to a cache problem like said in the documentation, do you do this step ?

If you don't see it, you might need to purge your Joomla cache before seeing it.

I just tried to do the manipulation on my end, and it's working fine.

I have tried it on multiple computers and have cleared the hikashop cache files and I still do not get the form data on the page when clicking the "testlink" I created in the footer of the site. Can you post a screen shot of what you see?

Hi,

It would have helped if you would have posted a screenshot of your custom entry fields and of your menu so that we could see what you did. Without that, we can't say anything precise to really help you.

The event registration tutorial is fine and there is no missing step in it as far as we know.

I don't see any "entry" custom fields on your screenshot.
The "item" custom fields are for displaying form elements on product pages, not on the entry page where only "entry" fields are displayed.

Thanks Nicolas!!! Now I have fields, but when I fill out the form I just get a product categories page that shows the product being sold and at the top I see "The cart is empty".
Also if I click the link for the product on that page, it takes me to the product page with the add to cart button. When I click the add to cart button it takes me back to the previous page and still says "the cart is empty".

Sorry if I am being slow here. I have been fighting a vision problem and have trouble concentrating let alone reading lately.

In the tutorial it says that:

You will also be able to attach a product to a field. The product will be added to the cart automatically once you validate the form if the value entered by the user matches the value you selected there.

When you add/edit your entry field, you need to assign a product to it.

Otherwise, no product will be added to the cart when you submit the form and thus you will get the behavior that you have now.

Is there ANY way around having the customer register on the site. This makes then enter their information twice before they can pay and they also have to verify their email with this process.

Also can I include a capcha with the form for security?

Thanks again!!!

If you don't want any registration, you can remove the "login" form of the "checkout workflow" option of the configuration.

You can't add captcha to the item fields form. However, you can add one to the registration form:

Also, can you tell me where the data from the form I created goes? I need to collect that information.

It goes in the orders. If you edit the order in the backend, you will see the entries information at the bottom.

I see a link that will open a popup with the custom entry info, but I do not get that info when I export the sales data.
How do I export the entry data to excel?

In the menu Sales->Entries, there is an export button.

THanks again!!!

One last thing I hope. In my registration form the state option is only listing a *. I thought I had set the default state. What setting might I have missed?

If a * appear instead of a singledopdown that mean that the country selected have no states.

Wow! I can't believe I can not find the setting to make the states list show.
I have Zones set to USA
I have all the states listed a subzones of that zone.
Shipping methods is set to manual although nothing will be shipped

I don't find any other setting that have states involved. What an I missing?

Then you must have a javascript error on your page. Can you give a link to your shop ?

Hi,

There is no more dropdown, do you change the type of the custom field "state" ?
